SHORT BIOGRAPHY OF PROF. ALFRED DE GRAZIA



Prof. Alfred de Grazia
Alfred de Grazia was born in Chicago, 29 Dec 1919, took degrees (with distinction) at the University of Chicago, undertook legal study at Columbia University, served from private to captain in World War II (Commander, Psych-Operations, U.S. 7th Army), taught and conducted research at Chicago, Minnesota, Harvard, Brown, Columbia, Stanford, and New York Universities. Lectured frequently abroad, including Göteborg. Istanbul, Rome, Lebanon, India. Senior Advisor to Department of Defense, State Department, General Motors Corporation, National Foundation for the Arts, and others. Founded American Behavioral Scientist, journal of creativity and method. Author of 34 books, many articles, including 6 literary and poetic works, 13 pioneering volumes on ancient catastrophes and human cultures, and 15 volumes on history, political science, international politics, and social theory. Member of a large American literary family. His father was a music director. Parent with Jill Oppenheim of seven children. Married presently to French novelist Anne-Marie Hueber de Grazia. He recently completed a panoramic American History, 1400-2000 AD, composed as epic poetry, and is at present heavily involved in playwrighting, autobiography, and the Living Archive web site, <www.grazian-archive.com> .
